Best Beach Bars.

This may not be of use to us this trip as we don’t have a car and, we are fast running out of time.

We are planning to catch the bus into Garrucha today and visit Boracay so we will have ticked one off the list.

However, there may be others that can use this information and we certainly will try some of them on future trips,

The best beach bars in Almería according to the Repsol Guide

Summer is almost here and it’s time to put on your swimsuit or bikini, put on some flip flops and go enjoy the best beach bars. Luckily, the province of Almería has a wide offer in this regard. Along the 249 kilometers of coast there are terraces of all types and for all tastes.

The Repsol Guide includes local recommendations of all kinds, not just luxurious restaurants. Their Soletes reward those less elitist offerings so that diners always find a place to go to have a good time and enjoy cooking.

In the province of Almería there are four beach bars awarded with the Repsol Solete. They are the following:

LA ORILLA CHIRINGUITO (ROQUETAS DE MAR)
On the beach of Las Salinas in Roquetas de Mar, next to the mouth of the Rambla del Cura, is the La Orilla beach bar. It is one of those traditional beach bars, with blue and white striped awnings, a multitude of tables on its different terraces overlooking the sea and a gastronomic offer where fish and seafood are the protagonists.

According to the Repsol Guide, the star dish here is fried monkfish, but its extensive menu has just over fifty proposals, most with a sea flavor and quite strong. “Fried fish such as brotola, redfish or cod, sautéed clams, grilled croaker or a fish zarzuela fit in there. Rice and meats, such as lamb chops, round off a menu by the seaside.”

BORACAY CHIRINGUITO (GARRUCHA)
When talking about Garrucha it is impossible to forget its famous red shrimp. One of the best places to try it, right on the beach, is the Boracay beach bar. He is another of those awarded the Repsol Solete. But Boracay has much more: portions, meats, fish, rice, seafood, homemade desserts… And, also, the best atmosphere for the afternoon, with DJs, drinks, cocktails and hookahs.

POMODORO CHIRINGUITO (VERA)
A beach bar, yes, but also a pizzeria. That’s Pomodoro, in Vera Playa. Salads, Italian pasta, stone-baked pizzas… And all this on the sand itself, a few meters from the sea of Playazo de Puerto Rey. It has the Repsol Solete that recognizes it as one of the best beach bars in Almería.

CHIRINGUITO LOS COCEORES (PULPÍ)
On the border between the provinces of Almería and Murcia is the Los Cocedores beach bar, on the spectacular beach of the same name. Could there be better views to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine? This beach bar specializes in rice and fish from the bay, which has earned it the recognition of Repsol’s Solete. Leave behind the controversy of whether it belongs to San Juan de los Terreros (Pulpí) or Águilas (Murcia) and simply enjoy this paradise with a soft drink or a beer.

Sadly the photos were copied from the article and it didn’t really identify each one. So they may whet your appetite but they won’t help you choose!

However a quick Google images search might help.
